Nurturing Goodness, Together
Each of our branches has the same core goal: rescue food that would otherwise be wasted and get it to folks in need. Because each region grows different produce, each branch has the flexibility to identify unique produce rescue opportunities locally.
CJ’s flagship location, our Atlanta Branch, started in 2009 with friends pickin’ fruit.
In 2012, we were gifted the land that has become Doghead Farm, Concrete Jungle’s half-acre urban farm in the Sylvan Hills neighborhood of Southwest Atlanta. Doghead Farm serves as a physical home base for the Concrete Jungle community—a space for cultivating food and connections with one another. Our Atlanta branch is also home to our nutrition education program, PEEL, and our purchasing program, Produce Buyers Club.
Athens Branch
Given the abundance of fruit trees and nearby farms, alongside many families struggling with food insecurity, Athens was the ideal next branch for the Concrete Jungle tree!
The amazing farming community in Athens and large volunteer base at the University of Georgia has allowed the Athens team to harvest thousands of pounds of produce from farms.
CJ Athens also collects harvested produce from farmers markets and grocery stores, partnering with these organizations to further prevent food waste.
